Terms & Conditions


  1. Car owner will need to ensure that the vehicle’s condition conforms to all Tribecar’s and LTA’s requirements, regulations and policies. If the vehicle does not conform to the requirements, regulations and policies, it will be delisted from Tribecar’s platform immediately.

  2. It is the Car owner’s responsibility to regularly check the vehicle for any mechanical and aesthetic defects or damages before takeover and handover of the vehicle. Since the vehicle will be used for sharing on Tribecar’s platform, normal wear and tear and deterioration of the vehicle condition is to be expected. If there are new damages to the vehicle upon takeover, the car owner is required to upload the images through the web/mobile app before driving off. If new damages to the vehicle are not reported before driving off, Car owner will be considered responsible for the damages. Car owner will also need to ensure that the vehicle is in a safe and road-worthy condition.

  3. Car owner are responsible to do their due diligence to ensure that the vehicle has a reasonable amount of engine oil, auto-transmission oil, radiator water, non-balding tyres and functioning air con at all times. If failed to perform such checks, it may result in the damage to the vehicle and Tribecar reserves its right to demand for compensation fee.

  4. Car owner are required to keep a set of spare keys of the vehicle in case of any emergency. Due to privacy issues, car owners are not allowed to access the vehicle once the vehicle is listed on Tribecar’s platform.

  5. Car owner are required to respond to any calls or feedback from Tribecar with regards to the vehicle condition. If Tribecar believes that the vehicle does not comply with reasonable standards, Tribecar may notify and reserve the right to remove or decline listing of the vehicle until its concerns have been resolved.

  6. Car owner has agreed to rent out the vehicle to Tribecar for a minimum period of 3 consecutive months by listing it on Tribecar’s platform. Car Owners will need to ensure that the vehicle is available and ready for use from (Friday 7pm to Monday 7am for Weekend package) inclusive of public holidays if the public holiday coincides with the listing period.

  7. It is mandatory for car owner to take images of the fuel gauge/dashboard with timestamp on it and upload it through the web/mobile app or whatsapp prior to the handover of the vehicle. If fuel is less than full tank and images are not submitted to Tribecar, the claim for compensation will not be valid. The vehicle must be full fuel tank before handover of the vehicle for the Weekend package. Penalty fees of $50.00 will apply if Tribecar receives 3 feedback from our hirers stating that they have collected the vehicle with less than what was stated in the agreement.

  8. To create a better experience for both Tribecar’s members and yourself, Tribecar strongly discourages smoking within the vehicle. If Tribecar receives feedback from our members stating that the vehicle cleanliness is in an unacceptable condition, an inconvenience fee of $20.00 will be imposed.

  9. Car owner will need to disclose to Tribecar where the vehicle will be parked initially (carpark, deck and range of lot numbers) and that will be the vehicle’s designated location. Car owner are required to handover the vehicle at its designated location otherwise an inconvenience fee of $50.00 will be imposed.

  10. For late handover of the vehicle, car owner will be charged $10.00 for every 15 minutes block (or part thereof). Should the handover of the vehicle be delayed beyond 2 hours, the vehicle will not be listed on Tribecar’s platform for the day and an additional inconvenience fee of $50.00 will be imposed.

  11. There is a minimum commitment period of 3 consecutive months. In the event of early termination, $150.00 will be imposed for the uninstallation of devices in the vehicle.

  12. If the device is found to be tampered by the Car owner upon investigation, $200 will be chargeable. If the device is completely damaged, $1000 will be imposed. The device must be returned upon termination of the agreement. $500 will be chargeable if failed to return the device.

  13. Car owner will need to submit the availability dates of the vehicle to list on Tribecar’s platform on every 15th and 30th or 31st of the month to allow bookings on Tribecar platform on the following month. If Car owner manage to inform Tribecar in advance for the unavailability of the vehicle, the monthly profit will be prorated.

  14. With every cancellation or amendments done to the listing, a fee of $10.00 will be chargeable. For cancellation or adjustment made 2 weeks before listing of vehicle, there will be no cancellation fee involved. For cancellation or adjustment made after confirmation of vehicle’s listing and booking(s) have been accepted, a cancellation fee of $10.00 will be applied and there will be an additional inconvenience fee of $50.00 and hirer’s booking fee with every cancellation or adjustment.

  15. Upon receipt of any fines from any government agency, Car owner need to write in and notify Tribecar within 3 working days to request for the particulars of the hirer to furnish the details to the respective agencies within 3 working days. Tribecar will not be responsible for any penalty fee involved with the delay of furnishing of the particulars.

  16. Car Owners need to ensure that any confidential information regarding our hirers are only meant for furnishing details for any fine related offences. If there is any misuse of information, Tribecar will not hesitate to blacklist and delist the vehicle from the system and report to any necessary authorities.

  17. The vehicle’s key should be placed inside the vehicle’s glove compartment prior to handover of vehicle. In the event if Tribecar’s members are unable to locate the vehicle’s key, an inconvenience fee of $50.00 will be chargeable.

  18. Tribecar will not be held responsible or liable for any damages done to the interior and undercarriage of the vehicle. Car owner will need to remove all religious related items from the vehicle. Tribecar will not be responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings and valuables.

  19. Car owner shall indemnify and hold Tribecar harmless from and against all reasonable costs, expenses or damages that Tribecar may suffer or incur, arising out of or in connection with the breach of this Agreement, including the costs of repair, repossession or recovery.

  20. Car owner agrees that the vehicle shall not be used for illegal purposes whatsoever. For instance, transportation of illegal goods and cargo such as cigarettes, undeclared goods, and human trafficking. Tribecar does not permit such activities for our hirers. In the event if the vehicle is used for illegal purposes whatsoever, car owners shall indemnify Tribecar from all liabilities, responsibilities and costs arising directly or indirectly from this incident.

  21. In the event of an accident and the vehicle is down for repairing, Tribecar will not provide a replacement vehicle. However, if car owner need to use a vehicle urgently, they may choose to book a vehicle at their nearest station on Tribecar’s platform. The car owner authorises and gives Tribecar the sole rights to make repair decision on behalf of the owner for damages incurred during the TribeShare program. Tribecar will use its appointed workshop or the authorised dealer of the brand of vehicle.

  22. In the event of a total loss of the vehicle, Tribecar reserves the rights to purchase the vehicle at market auto dealer trade in rates. By doing so, the owner of the vehicle will discharge Tribecar of all liability and responsibilities.

  23. Car owner acknowledges and agrees that the use of the Vehicles involves the risks of death, injury and property damage, and accepts all such risks arising out of or in connection with the use of the Vehicles and Motorcycles.

  24. To the fullest extent permitted under applicable laws, save in respect of death or personal injury caused by the negligence of Tribecar, Tribecar shall not be liable to the leasee or, the Authorised Driver(s) or any other person or entity for any direct, indirect, special, incidental, consequential or exemplary damages (including, but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, loss of data, loss of use or costs of obtaining substitute services) arising out of the use, inability to use, unauthorised access to or use or misuse of the Services, whether based upon warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, even if Tribecar has been advised of the possibility of such damages or losses.

  25. All of the cost stated above are subjected to prevailing Goods and Services Tax (GST).


Car Owner’s Checklist:


  1. Car owners will need to provide certificate of registration, license plate(s) decal, valid in force insurance and road tax.

  2. Parking brakes must be tested and brake pads must be at least 20% of the original thickness.

  3. Exhaust system must be undamaged with no visible blue or black smoke.

  4. Air condition in the vehicle must be in working condition.

  5. Steering wheel and suspension system must be in working condition.

  6. The horn needs to be fastened to the vehicle and the sound should be loud enough to give an adequate signal.

  7. There should be no cracks or chips on the windshield and windows. Wipers and washers should be in working condition. If the vehicle window is tinted, it needs to conform to LTA specifications.

  8. Engine and transmission should be in working order. Engine or warning lights should not be on.

  9. Headlights and rear lights must be working with no bulbs burned out. Hazard lights, directional, stop and reverse lights and license plate lights, reflectors and all the mirrors must be in working condition.

  10. The Tires cannot be balding.

  11. Seat belt and airbags must be in working condition with no warning lights on.

  12. There should be no hanging body panels and loose parts for the under carriage.
